Review : Assassin’s Creed – Renaissance by Oliver Bowden

I WILL SEEK VENGEANCE UPON THOSE WHO BETRAYED MY FAMILY. I AM EZIO AUDITORE DA FIRENZE. I AM AN ASSASSIN. . .

Betrayed by the ruling families of Italy, a young man embarks upon an epic quest for vengeance. To eradicate corruption and restore his family’s honor, he will learn the art of the Assassins.

Along the way, Ezio will call upon the wisdom of such great minds as Leonardo da Vinci and Niccolo Machiavello—knowing that survival is bound to the skills by which he must live.

To his allies, he will become a force for change—fighting for freedom and justice. To his enemies, he will become a threat dedicated to the destruction of the tyrants abusing the people of Italy.

So begins an epic story of power, revenge and conspiracy.

TRUTH WILL BE WRITTEN IN BLOOD. (From: Goodreads)

Torches gleamed and flickered high on the towers of the Palazzo Vecchio and the Bargello, and just a few lanterns shimmered in the cathedral square a little way to the north.

Renaissance.  History class made me love this time period.  Italy.  I’m in love with Italy!!!  I wish I could visit there someday.  This book combines my dream elements!  Can I not pick up this book?

Things I Like About It

– the writing

I enjoy Oliver Bowden’s writing.  He described Italy in detail.  It’s like I’m right there at that time.

Things I Dislike About It

– the plot

I’m really really not interested in historical fiction.  It just…I almost felt asleep reading it.

Recommendation

You should read it if you

– are obsessed with Renaissance

– are in love with Italy

– played this video game before

– want to learn Italian

You shouldn’t read it if you

– failed to read every historical fiction except for Nazi time period ones

That’s all for my review of Assassin’s Creed – Renaissance by Oliver Bowden.  Have you played this game before?  Let me know what you think.

Thanks for reading.  Have a nice day and I’ll see you next time!  Bye-bye 👋
